The horse races of the third week of the race and breeding committee were held in beautiful weather and in front of a large audience.
It was the first race (sales race) with a bonus of 170 liras and a distance of 2000 meters, which belonged to native, half-blood Arabian horses and mares aged four and over. In this race with four horses and mares, Mr. İsmail's Zeybek came first, Mr. Mustafa's Kumru second and Mr. Ali Rıza's Ferruh third. The animal that came first in this race was sold for 600 liras.
Second race: It is reserved for three-year-old native, half-blood Arabian and pure-blood Arabian male and female foals. His bonus was 290 liras and his distance was 1000 meters. Four colts ran. Istanbul Police Chief Mr. Fehmi's Oktay took the first place, Mr. Mustafa's Dilber took the second place, and Mr. Hakkı's Kader took the third place.
Third race: It was the Thai trial run. Special for three-year-old native British male and female colts, the bonus was 450 liras, and the distance was 1600 meters. Mr. Fikret Atlı's Tomru won the first place, Erol the second and Mr. Şevket's Strandja took the third place.
Fourth race: It was reserved for native half-blood British horses and mares aged four and over who had not won a race during the year. The distance of this run, whose bonus was 285 liras, was 2000 meters. Six mares and horses ran. In this very exciting run, Mr. Rüstem's Süha came first, Mr. Fikret Atlı's Kap came second and Mr. Rüstem's Little Nona came third.
Fifth race: It was reserved for pure-blooded English horses and mares, who were four years old and above, and whose bonuses in 1935 did not encroach on a total of 300 liras. His bonus was 230 liras and his distance was 1600 meters. Six animals ran. Mr. Akif's Marquise came first, Mr. Ahmed's Grandezza came second and Mr. Akif's Bekar came third.
Izmir spring races will continue for two more weeks. After the races, nine of the native British purebred foals bred in the Karacabey stud farm were auctioned and eight foals were sold. The most beautiful of the foals, Banan, was purchased by the manufacturer from Salihli, Mr. Mustafa Flow, for the highest price of 1155 liras. The minimum price was 200 lira. These colts will enter the ten thousand and five thousand bonus runs of next year's races.
