A view from Buca Secondary School (in the corner: Principal Faik Bey)

Buca Leyli (boarding) Secondary School in Izmir is a corner of paradise - It is impossible not to think of Buca Secondary School when talking about lore and education in our city. Twenty minutes away from Izmir, this beautiful resort village is a very charming and friendly nook set eighty-eight meters above sea level.

The leyli middle school here is one of Buca's must-see establishments, and the building is seriously beautiful and ornate. It was built in the English architectural style at the time of the school. It is in the middle of a large pine grove. When I set foot inside this grove, Faik Bey, the principal of the school, accepted me graciously and showed me around.

We toured the flower and vegetable gardens, vineyard and olive grove of the school together with Principal Faik. The classroom and dormitory buildings of the school are in separate buildings. The dormitory is surrounded by very regular flower paths. These are decorated with many statues and fountains. When the days get hot, the student eats lunch and dinner in the garden, under the pine trees.

The student does sports with a regular schedule and takes a bath twice a day in the large pool. The school also has volleyball, basketball, football and tennis courts.

Girl students exhibited the works they had created in a year in their sewing and embroidery classes in a beautiful exhibition. These works are a serious sign that the student is successful. The Ministry of Education gathered all afghan students in this charming institution. Even though Istanbul is included, I can say that Buca School is the most beautiful among all the country schools in terms of air, water and scenery. With this school, the formation of the demand is in the form of initiative and will.
