In Iscievleri district of Buca, there is a cone-shaped stone structure called the "maiden's tower" by the people of Buca. Various stories of this tower, located among the vineyards in the past, have been told until today.
Among these stories, two of the most well-known stories that have survived to this day can be mentioned. The first story is as follows: Once upon a time, the daughter of a Greek lord caught a fatal disease. The Greek lord consulted many doctors for his daughter's recovery. The doctors of the time told the Greek lord that his daughter should settle in a place with clean air for her recovery. Buca is famous for its clean air that healed patients in the past. Greek lord comes to Buca. He had a stone tower built in an elevated area that coincided with the northeast of Buca at that time, overlooking the Paradiso Plain. However, Buca's fresh air does not help and the son's daughter dies after a while.
The second story is as follows: The daughter of a Greek lord named Foster and the son of a priest love each other. However, there is animosity between the fathers of the two young people. Because of this situation, two young people build a tower on their own land in order to communicate with each other. One of them is called "girl's tower" and the other is called "boy's tower". Since there was no construction at that time, it is possible for the towers to see each other. In this way, young people communicate with each other through the towers. It is understood that the other tower referred to as the "boy's tower" here is the "priest's tower" in Koşutepesi.
Apart from these two stories, it is also told that after the death of Hacıandoniyadis, the real owner of the tower, the tower remained empty and over time, it became a place where young girls and boys of marriageable age in Buca village met.
The available information about the Maiden's Tower is that the tower belonged to a rich Greek from Buca named Hacıandoniyadis. According to the Greek writer Kararas, Hacıandoniyadis was someone who became rich in the flour business. He had one factory each near Darağaç and the Prophet Elijah Monastery. He liked to drink ouzo on the terrace of the tower and watch the Buca Plain. It is known that the boy's tower, better known as the "priest's tower", is a converted windmill house purchased by Robert Ashe, pastor of the Buca Protestant Church, in the early 1900s.
